London presents a book “Azerbaijan, a bridge between East and West”

The presentation of the book “Azerbaijan, a bridge between East and West” of the famous writer Yury Sigov, published in Great Britain, have passed in London, writes with reference to AzerTadzh.

The book is published at the initiative and with assistance of Embassy of Azerbaijan in Great Britain, Hertfordshire Press publishing house.

Mayor of the London areas of Chelsea and Kensington, Ambassadors of Belarus and Kazakhstan, diplomats, representatives of the Azerbaijani Diaspora, community, and students participated at the ceremony.

Ambassador of Azerbaijan in Great Britain Tair Tagizade noted that our country is known not only for rich energy resources in the world, but also for rich cultural heritage, history, art and ethnic cuisine. In the strategic plan Azerbaijan is the bridge between East and West. Our country is also famous as a place of dialogue of civilizations and cultures.

The book, written by Y. Sigov, allows to get acquainted with Azerbaijan closer.

Mayor of areas of Chelsea and Kensington Maighread Condon-Simmonds marked the importance of the book for people, who want to learn more about Azerbaijan, not only about its development, but also traditions of the people. She emphasized that the book will allow to present culture of Azerbaijan in Great Britain more widely, will make a contribution to improvement of mutual understanding between Britain and Azerbaijan.

The author Yury Sigov noticed that the relations between Azerbaijan and Great Britain promptly develop. He signed that he was glad to write the book about Azerbaijan.

The writer informed about the book and remarked that everyone, who is interested in Azerbaijan, including the British, can gather very interesting information about the country. Speaking about culture, history, art of the Azerbaijani people, he pointed to its hospitality.

The author speaks about history of oil industry, provides data from ancient times to the period of modern development.

Sigov told: “That one, who will read the book, will understand why Azerbaijan is the bridge between East and the”.
